Eva-Maria Fahmüller – Dramaturgin, CEO Master School Drehbuch

Dr. phil. Eva-Maria Fahmüller received her PhD writing on postmodern currents in German literature. Since 2000, she has worked as a freelance dramaturg for various production companies and numerous authors. For example, she accompanied the development of the award-winning documentary drama series KRIEG DER TRÄUME (D 2018).

Since 2016, Fahmüller has been chair of the board of VeDRA, the Association for Film and Television Dramaturgy e.V. In 2014 and 2017-2020, she was a member of the BKM jury for the German Screenplay Award.

Fahmüller teaches screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Master School Drehbuch, which she took over as director in 2009 (www.masterschool.de). In addition, she taught at the Film University Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf” (2013 to 2019), among others. She gives workshops for TV stations and production companies.

For many years, Fahmüller has been working on the portrayal of mental disorders in film and television. She also investigates the influence of globalization and digitalization on our understanding of stories. Her book “Neue Dramaturgien – Zwischen Monomythos, Storyworld und Serienboom” was published in November 2017.
