Andres Veiel – Director

Andres Veiel works in documentary („Balagan“, “Black Box Germany”, „Addicted to Acting“ “Beuys”) and fiction film („The Kick”, “Wer wenn nicht wir”/ „If not us Who“, “Ökozid”). He has received more than fifty awards for his films, including the European Film Prize and the German Film Prize, awarded multiple times.  Andres is working as well in theater. His plays “The Kick”, “Das Himbeerreich”, Let them eat money” premiered under his direction at the Maxim Gorki Theater and Deutsches Theater in Berlin, were translated into many languages and shown at more than 100 stages in Germany and abroad. Andres has offered a masterclass for documentary projects at the DFFB since 2005, mentoring students intensively from the first idea to the completion of the films.
