Katharina Beyrich – Drehbuchautorin, Regisseurin, Creative Producer

Katharina, born in 1985, grew up in the middle of Germany in a town called Braunschweig. After a few stop overs, she ended up in Vienna to study Theatre, Film and Media Studies and Philosophy. During that time, Katharina also started to work as an AD in the German Film Industry and later became a creative producer for Heinrich Breloer’s “Brecht”. In addition, she volunteers for “Weißer Ring”, an organization for victims of crime.

Katharina fell in love a couple of times in her life. She fell in love by discovering filmmakers like Miranda July, Wong Kar Wai and the writer Jonathan Safran Foer. She also admires the artists Robert Lepage, James Turrell and the musician Cat Power. All the inspirations have had and continue to have a huge impact on her ideas, work and life.

Katharina lives in Berlin and is writing her first screenplay.
