Kanchi Wichmann – Autorin, Regisseurin

Kanchi is a German/British writer/ director living in Berlin for 10 years. Her debut feature BREAK MY FALL (UK 2011) was released theatrically in Germany and the UK and sold to over 20 territories worldwide. It was the first ever British lesbian film to be released theatrically in the UK and is on the BFI list of 10 best lesbian films.

Kanchi’s 10-episode Berlin-set comedy web series, MIXED MESSAGES (DE 2017) is available online worldwide through various platforms including Amazon, iTunes and Googleplay.

Kanchi has also made several short films and is an alumni of screenwriting programmes including Babylon Europe. She also lectures and speaks on film particularly LGBTQ* and femininst cinema and has written for various publications including Another Gaze (London) and Sieggesäulle (Berlin).

She is currently developing a queer comedy series called ADULTS OF BERLIN with Berlin-based Amard Bird Films
